Best time to visit

The best time to trek Fansipan is from September to November and February to May

September to November: offers cooler weather and clear skies, making it ideal for trekking. The temperature is comfortable, and you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

February to May is another great period, with mild weather, less rain, and blooming spring flowers along the trail. This is also when the azalea season takes place, adding vibrant colors to the landscape and enhancing the trekking experience.

Location

Fansipan is located in Lao Cai Province, in the northwest region of Vietnam, near the town of Sapa. It is part of the Hoàng Liên Son mountain range and is the highest peak in Vietnam and Indochina, standing at 3,143 meters (10,312 feet) above sea level. Fansipan is often referred to as the “Roof of Indochina” and attracts trekkers from all over the world due to its stunning views and challenging trails.

Detailed Itinerary

5:00am – 5:30am : Personal hygiene, breakfast, relaxing coffee or tea

5:30am – 6:00am : Go to the SaPa by taxi. Depart from Tram Ton at an altitude of 1900m and start trekking into the forest. It will take you about 6 hours to reach the first stop at an altitude of 2200m and rest there.

12:00pm : Stop for lunch and rest.

1:30pm : Next you need to move to the second stop at an altitude of 2800m, then climb to Fansipan peak.

3:30pm : Comeback homestay and enjoy the dinner.
